The starting point of the Sake.re initiative was the storage of cultural knowledge evolution experimental results with the wiki pages of the Lazy lavender software repository.
When INRIA decided to discontinue its support to gforge.inria.fr in 2021, it was decided to start a separate site and process, fully dedicated experiment design, process and publication. Its goal was to facilitate reproducing experimental results, reprocessing result analyses and repurposing experiment descriptions.
For that purpose, Sake.re was started and hosts experiment descriptions, results and analyses stored in a dedicated git server. As far as possible these descriptions and analyses are displayed through fully functional jupyter notebooks and could be run as docker container.
In 2023, the first experiments not using Lazy lavender were registered to the platform.
To date (2024), not all experiments of the initial gforge wiki have been transferred as notebooks.
